I. Process Introduction
Submerge and dissolve borax ore or orthorhombic borax ore in borax mother liquid, and achieve borax solution through filtration. After adjusting concentration, pump borax solution into special crystallization system and crystallize under certain conditions. Achieve finished product of borax pentahydrate through separation, washing and drying.
II. Technical Advancement
Domestic existing production process is heavy crystallization process taking borax decahydrate as raw material, and the production cost is relatively high. This process overcame the disadvantages of heavy crystallization process, realized single-step method preparation of borax pentahydrate, and substantially reduced production cost, occupying domestic leading position in quality and cost control.
III. Market Prospect
Chinese total annual demand of borax pentahydrate is over 350,000t, and the demand has been increased year by year. Domestic borax pentahydrate production capacity is less than 20,000t, and only annual import volume can reach 260,000t. The market prospect is broad.

Production of borax pentahydrate with borax ore has cost of products/t 2,900-3,100 Yuan (establish factory in Golmud), profit 1,050-1,250 Yuan/t, and the profit space is relatively big.

Note: This process is also applicable to prepare borax pentahydrate with atmospheric alkaline hydrolysis single-step method by using ulexite ore and szaibelyite ore as raw material, and sodium bicarbonate as decomposition agent.
